For any interview, preparation is a must. Companies conduct interviews to see whether you can solve their problems and whether you are suitable for the position. So there are some basic things you must be aware while going for a walkin interview. These may not be valid for every interview, but ensures that you don’t miss any basics!

1. Company Information - Ensure that you atleast know basics about the company for which you are applying. You need not do a detailed study, but rather about their overall objectives and business model.

2. Be Positive - Nobody wants to hire a looser. Ensure that you present your best qualities and sound very positive.

3. Be Honest - If you changing jobs because you want better pay, say it. Don’t fake it saying you are looking for “challenges” etc. Clearly specify your priorities like - pay, opportunities for growth etc.

4. Prepare - You may have 20 years of technical experience, but that is not an excuse to avoid preparation. Do a quick preparation before the interview, going through your entire skillset.

5. Adhere to Basics - Be punctual, well groomed and well dressed. Always sound confident and firm.

6. Listen - Last, but not least listen to the interviewer and think a bit before replying. Don’t just jump and answer. There is no need for hurry.
